DHAKA: The first meeting of the newly elected presidium committee members of ruling Awami League (AL) is underway be held at Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s official residence Ganabhaban in city on Friday evening (October 28).

Prime Minister and also reelected party president Hasina chaired the meeting which started around 7:30pm.

All but the presidium committee member Syed Ashraful Islam, who is in London for family reason, attended the meeting.

Earlier, party sources said that decisions on next party programs will be made at the meeting. Moreover, names of remaining members of the new executive committee will be disclosed at the meeting.

It is first party meeting after the recently held 20th AL council.

On the last day of the 2-day council, names of 16 members of a 19-member presidium committee were announced including president and general secretary. Names of the remaining three members will be announced at the upcoming meeting.
