KHAGRACHARI/RANGAMATI: Two Chittagong Hill Tracts (CHT) districts – Rangamati and Khagrachari -- are observing a dawn to dusk road blockade on Sunday (October 30) demanding cancellation of the CHT Land Dispute Settlement Commission meeting.

The long route connectivity with the districts has been halted due to the blockade. However, some local vehicles are seen plying within the town.

Earlier, five Bangali-dominated organizations Parbatya Chittagram Samaadikar Andalan, Parbatya Ganaparishad, Parbatya Nagrik Parishad, Parbatya Bangali Chhatra Parishad and Parbatya Bangali Chhatra Oikko Parishad imposed the blockade.

They carried out possession at Khagrachari Gate area in the morning.

However, the second meeting of the commission is scheduled to be held at Rangamati Circuit House on Sunday with nine members of CHT land Commission including its chairman and also Supreme Court justice (retd) Mohammad Anwarul Haque as participants.
