DHAKA: Road Transport and Bridges Minister also General Secretary of ruling Awami League (AL) Obaidul Quader said the party nominated candidate will win by a landslide if Narayanganj City Corporation (NCC) elections conduct freely.

He made the remarks at a press briefing in city’s secretariat office Tuesday noon (December 20).

“We want Election Commission (EC) to play an independent and authoritative role in their duties in the election as AL Chairperson clearly instructed” Obaidul Quader stated.

He further said they want a free and fair election by any cost and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina led government will not impose any influences.   

The general secretary also hoped that people of Narayanganj will vote and elect their preferred candidate as city corporation mayor.
