DHAKA: At least 25 leaders, workers and supporters of the BNP were detained from the High Court area in the city on Thursday (December 28).

The arrested BNP men came to the area to show their support to BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia who appeared before a special court, the makeshift court set up on the premises of the Madrasa-e-Alia Dhaka at Bakshibazar in the city.

Khaleda Zia appeared before the court in the Zia Orphanage Trust Graft case.

Police detained the BNP men from morning to the noon.

Deputy Commissioner (DC) of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) confirmed the matter.
