Tigers whitewash Kiwis again

DHAKA: Bangladesh whitewashed New Zealand in the 3-match ODI series beating the visitors by 4 wickets in the final match at Fatullah in Narayanganj Sunday.

Tigers for the second time clinched the all-win triumph over the Kiwis, a Test major, in a tourney.

In response to New Zealand-set 308-run target, the host side reached 309 runs for six wickets after over 49.2 at Khan Shaheb Osman Ali Stadium.

Nasir Hossain scored 44 not out while Shamsur Rahman scored 96 runs, Naeem Islam 63, Ziaur Rahman 22 and Mominul Haque took 32 runs before going back to pavilion,.

Earlier the visitors scored 307 runs for five wickets. LRPL Taylor took not out 107 while Anton Devcich, Tom Latham and C Munro scored 46, 43 and 85 respectively.

Bangladesh bowlers Rubel Hossain, Abdur Razzak and Mahmudullah Ryad begged one wicket each.

Earlier in the day, Bangladesh decided to bowl first after winning the toss at the Khan Shaheb Osman Ali Stadium in Fatullah.

Tamim Iqbal missed out due to abdominal pain, and was replaced by Ziaur Rahman.

On October 31, Bangladesh won the ODI (One Day International) series against New Zealand for the second time in the home with one match to go of three-match series by 40 runs.
