India extended their unbeaten run at the 2025 Asia Cup with a 21-run win over Oman in their final Group A clash, sealing top spot and setting up a Super Four showdown with Pakistan.

Playing Oman for the first time in any format, the defending champions posted 188 for eight after electing to bat.

Sanju Samson, promoted to number three, top-scored with 56 off 45 balls, while Abhishek Sharma (38 off 15), Tilak Varma (29 off 18) and Axar Patel (26 off 13) provided quick runs. Left-arm pacer Faisal Shah was Oman’s standout bowler with 2-23.

Chasing 189, Oman lost Jatinder Singh for 32 in the ninth over but rallied through a 93-run stand between Aamir Kaleem (64 off 46) and Hammad Mirza (51 off 33).

Kaleem’s dismissal in the 18th over sparked a collapse, with Hardik Pandya removing both Kaleem and Mirza before Arshdeep Singh dismissed Vinayak Shukla to claim his 100th T20I wicket.

Oman, winless in three games, exit the tournament alongside Afghanistan, UAE, and Hong Kong.

The Super Four stage begins Saturday (September 20) with Sri Lanka facing Bangladesh, while India meet arch-rivals Pakistan on Sunday.

The top two teams from the round-robin will play the final in Dubai on September 28.
