Mominul Haque scored his 13th Test century as Bangladesh reached 205-6 at lunch on Day 4 of the second and final Test against India, following two rain-affected days at Green Park in Kanpur.

Mominul, unbeaten on 102, was joined by Mehidy Hasan Miraz on 6 as the teams headed into the first interval, with the match appearing to be headed for a draw.

This marked Mominul's second Test century outside Bangladesh, reaching the milestone with a sweep off Ravichandran Ashwin for a boundary after facing 172 deliveries.

Resuming the day at 107-3, Mominul displayed confidence, particularly against spin, keeping Bangladesh in the contest. However, other batters struggled against India’s disciplined bowling attack, which was pushing for an unlikely result.

Indian pacer Jasprit Bumrah made the first breakthrough, bowling Mushfiqur Rahim for 11, who added just five runs to his overnight score.

Mohammed Siraj then claimed Liton Das for 13, thanks to a brilliant catch by Rohit Sharma at mid-off.

Shakib Al Hasan, possibly playing his final match for Bangladesh, briefly rolled back the years with two boundaries before Ashwin dismissed him for 9, caught by Siraj at mid-off in his first over.

Despite the wickets falling around him, Mominul remained composed, continuing to score steadily and guiding Bangladesh through the session with Miraz.

India leads the series 1-0, having secured a commanding 280-run victory in the first Test in Chennai.
