Bangladesh announced their 15-member squad for the ICC Men’s Champions Trophy on Sunday, with Nazmul Hossain Shanto taking the reins as captain.
The team, aiming to build on their best-ever finish as semi-finalists in the 2017 edition, features a mix of experience and young talent.
However, former captain and star all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan will not feature in this year’s tournament due to his ongoing balling ban. Tamim Iqbal's recent retirement, has forced the selectors to build the team without two of its most experienced players.
Meanwhile, young batter Parvez Hossain Emon has been handed an opportunity, to replace Litton in the squad.
Besides, the squad boasts a blend of seasoned players like Mushfiqur Rahim, Mahmudullah, and Mustafizur Rahman alongside emerging stars such as Tanzid Hasan and Tawhid Hridoy. With this lineup, Bangladesh hopes to achieve their first-ever ICC title.
