India win the toss, opted to bowl

DHAKA: India is set to face spirited debutants Afghanistan in their last round-robin league match in Mirpur on Wednesday in their disastrous Asia Cup.

Indian captain V Kohli won the toss and elected to field first.

The day/night match will start at 2:00PM at Shere Bangla National Stadium.

Though Bangladesh scored their highest ever ODI total, Pakistan beat them by 3 wickets in the 8th Match of Asia Cup at Mirpur on Tuesday.

According to cricinfo.com, if Bangladesh had beaten Pakistan, India would have still needed to keep up their end of the equation. They would have had to beat Afghanistan and win with a bonus point. India will still want that bonus point, even though they have nothing tangible left to play for. Both Pakistan and Sri Lanka managed it, and India will want to match those two sides on that count.
