Cristiano Ronaldo ended his long-standing drought against Germany, scoring the winner in Portugal’s Nations League semi-final in Munich, bringing his career tally to 937 goals.

The 40-year-old’s 137th international strike in 220 caps marked his second goal against Germany in six meetings, erasing a record of five straight losses.

“It’s tough to keep that hunger after 20 years, but he’s still here,” said teammate Bernardo Silva, praising Ronaldo’s relentless ambition.

Portugal manager Roberto Martinez added: “He takes each day as an opportunity to get better.”

Ronaldo, who has scored 85 goals for Portugal since turning 30—outstripping the career totals of legends like Pele and Ferenc Puskas—now faces France or Spain in Sunday’s Nations League final.

His club future remains uncertain as his Al-Nassr contract nears its end, though reports suggest a likely extension until 2027.

Needing 63 more goals to become the first player to reach 1,000, Ronaldo’s 35 goals last season for Al-Nassr indicate he could hit the milestone in under two years.

Despite speculation linking him to Botafogo for the Club World Cup, his focus remains on adding to his unmatched legacy.
