DHAKA: New Zealand beat Ireland by 42 runs in the fifth match of Women`s World T20 at Sylhet International Cricket Stadium on Tuesday.

Ireland lost five wickets to score 129 runs after 20–over in response to the 171-run target.

Cecelia Joyce scored not out 41 while Clare Shillington and Isobel Joyce took 28 and 24 runs respectively.

Morna Nielsen picked two wickets.

Earlier Kiwis won the toss and elected to bat first. They lost three wickets to score 170 runs in stipulated 20-over.

Suzie Bates scored 68 runs off 51 balls while Frances Mackay and S McGlashan took 51 and not out 34 runs respectively.

Eimear Richardson bagged two wickets.
