Neymar inspires Brazil comeback

DHAKA: The Barcelona star came to the rescue after the host nation had fallen behind at the Arena de Sao Paulo on Thursday night.

Two goals from Neymar and a late Oscar strike inspired Brazil to a 3-1 comeback victory over Croatia in the opening game of the 2014 World Cup.

Neymar scored his second goal from penalty kick at the 71st minute and scored a revenging shot – the first one, equaling Brazil two minutes after he was cautioned by yellow card at the 27th minutes of the match.

The moment that he has been waiting for! And it had to be Brazil's golden boy! Credit must first and foremost go to Oscar, whose tenacity in midfield won the ball back for Brazil in the Croatia half. From there, Neymar advanced unchallenged, and from 20 yards, swept a low left-footed shot into the bottom corner via the base of the post!

He was replaced by Ramires at the 88th minutes.

Oscar weaved his way through the Croatian backline and fires a low stirke from long range, catching Pletikosa off-guard in the extra time, fixing the match result at 3-1 goals.

Brazil faced a suicidal goal from Marcelo at the 11th minute of the first match of World Cup 2014.

Olic breaks down the Croatia left and is not closed down. He hits a low cross towards goal which is flicked on by Nikica Jelavic at the front post, Marcelo cannot stop his feet in time and it ends up in the back of the net.

The greatest show on earth FIFA World Cup-2014 kicked off with Brazil versus Croatia match at 2:00am Friday at Arena de Sao Paulo in Brazil.

Brazila faced Croatia three times in World Cup and won in two and made draw in another match.
