DHAKA: After Brazil’s winning against Croatia without any amazement in the opening match, attention on day two is rising with turns to one of the most eagerly awaited games of the group stage.

On this day, Samuel Eto'o's Cameroon take on Mexico, who are looking for their first win over an African opponent at a World Cup, before Chile and Australia round off the day's group games.

El Tri had all sorts of problems in qualifying but look like a solid side, while Cameroon have talent but perhaps lack the team spirit to succeed so far from home.

Mexico will face Cameroon in an enticing World Cup Group A match 10:00pm Friday (BDST).

 

There the both sides will be hoping to score a key victory during their opening-tournament encounter, especially given that challenging matches against Croatia and hosts Brazil await.

Spain, the reigning world and European champions, meet Netherlands in a repeat of the 2010 final, one of three fixtures as the tournament gets into full swing.

On 1:00am (BDST) title holders Spain are ready to square off against 2010 finalists Netherlands in what seems to be the most anticipated match of the 2014 World Cup group stage.

The final in South Africa consisted of numerous hard challenges, memorable highlights and an overall bad temper between two recognised sides and the only difference from tonight is that this will be just a group B match.

Later, Chile will face Australia on 4:00am.

Chile come into this World Cup with many tipping them to be dark horses in a tough group which contains 2010’s finalists. Their first group game sees them pitted against an Australia side who will be determined to prove their critics wrong and show that they are not simply going to be Group B’s whipping boys.
