Costa Rica face tough Greeks at 2am

DHAKA: A solid defence used to be Greece’s modus operandi while Costa Rica traditionally relied on maverick individuals but the stereotypes have been shed in this World Cup where the two teams face a last-16 clash Sunday.

The fourth match of the knock out round of world cup-2014 will be held at 2:00am in Recife.

Costa Rica will play Greece as both sides look to book their place in the World Cup 2014 quarter-finals.

Costa Rica will be favorites having emerged as group winners of one of the most difficult groups in the World Cup this year, which included three former World Cup champions in Italy, England and Uruguay.

They will be hoping to continue their fine form and continue to surprise fans.

In team news, Costa Rica is expected to revert back to the same starting line up that defeated Italy in their second game of the World Cup. They rested a number of players against England in their final group game as they had already qualified for the Last 16, having already defeated Italy and Uruguay.

For Greece, captain Kostas Katsouranis is back, having been suspended for the Ivory Coast match, which Greece won to shock everyone and make the Last 16.

In all honesty, not many expected either of these two teams to make it out of their groups.

Midfielder Yeltsin Tejeda has admitted ahead of the game: "We were thinking more about Colombia and the Ivory Coast. Now we have to change the video cassette."

Greece have been criticized for an extremely defensive strategy in their games so far. However, coach Fernando Santos dismissed criticism.
