BCB concentrates on School Cricket

Dhaka: Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) president said the national school cricket tournament will run over the country with a festive mood from the next year to build up a platform for hunting talent cricketers and train them as future national players.

 “School cricket is a heart of the cricket nation.” He said “In the priority basis they will give more emphasis in school cricket.”

BCB president A H M Mostofa Kamal (Lotas Kamal) expressed Tuesday, “It is our vision to increase participating team in the Standard Chartered National School tournament for the betterment of the counties cricket.”  

Early, this year being successful of the Standard Chartered National School Tournament, BCB arranged a press meet Tuesday at hotel Sonargaon in the city, where explained, 56 young cricketers they were hunt from the tournament in two age group under 15 and below 17 years, 28 of each and they giving long-term training in residential camp at BKSP.
 
This year, 539 schools participated in the tournament in district round, which is much better then previous episode. BkSP contained the title both the age group tournament (u-15 & u17).

BCB thanked to the sponsors Standard Chartered Bank for providing huge money to arrange nationwide cricket tournament from the last five years.

Mr. Jim McCabe CEO of the Standard Chartered Bank and head of corporate affairs Bitopi Das Chowdhury attended the press conference, while BCB board directors presented their success in the tournament.
