Tigers greeted after series win over India

DHAKA: Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia and Nobel laureate Dr Mohammad Yunus greeted Bangladesh Cricket Team for sealing first-ever ODI series against India on Sunday.

In the congratulation message, Sheikh Hasina said Bangladesh team has achieved prestigious position in the world by the intense effort of the players and highest sincerity of government to the development of cricket.

Immediate after crushing series win over India, BNP chief Khaleda Zia congratulated tigers for their tremendous performance.

In congratulation statement, eminent economist Dr Yunus said that Tigers are remarkable! They (tigers) boosted the prestige of Bangladesh.

“We are proud of you. Congratulation,” says Dr Yunus.

They also congratulated team manger, coach, cricket board officers, fans and others.

On Sunday, Bangladesh registered its first-ever series win against India after Mustafizur Rahman’s six wickets secured a six-wicket victory in the second one-day international (ODI) to take an unassailable 2-0 lead in the three-match series.

Bangladesh paceman Mustafizur Rahman set a new record of taking 11 wickets in his first two consecutive One Day Internationals (ODI) matches on Sunday.

The 19-year-old seamer also became the second bowler to take five-fors in his first two ODIs Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in city.

The third match is scheduled for June 24.
