DHAKA: Immediately after the historical series win over India, former Indian Cricket captain Sunil Gavaskar said Bangladesh, no more the 'Kids' of World Cricket.

On Sunday, Bangladesh achieved new landmark of winning its first ODI series against India with another match remaining. Bangladesh won the first ODI on Thursday last by 79 runs.

Complimenting Bangladesh, Gavaskar said that the 'baccha' of world cricket have now grown up.

“The Bangla tigers played much superior cricket than India, who struggled to put on a show with the bat,” he told NDTV in an interview.

Gavaskar added that this victory means a lot to the Bangladeshi fans who have been loyal to their team for all these years.

Earlier, Gavaskar says, “It is not a surprise that they won the first ODI against India.”

"Over the last couple of years, Bangladesh have improved a lot," he added.

With Sunday’s six-wicket win, Bangladesh also cemented their place in the 2017 Champions Trophy.
