Namibia need 137-run

DHAKA: Namibia Under-19s have restricted South Africa Under-19s to a meager 136-run in the 17th Match of ICC Under-19 World Cup at Sheikh Kamal International Cricket Stadium Academy Ground in Cox's Bazar on Sunday (January 31).

Winning the toss, South Africa Under-19s captain T de Zorzi elected to bat first in the Group A match that started at 9:00am.

But, his batsmen failed to capitalize. Tight bowling by Namibian youth also checked them from playing big shots. Finally, the Proteas youth could score 136-run losing nine wickets from their 50-over.

WC Ludick scored 42 off 98 balls while T de Zorzi, L Sipamla, K Verreynne took 18, 17 and 16 runs respectively.

Namibia’s M van Lingen picked up four wickets. Besides, F Coetzee took three wickets.

Namibia Under-19s beat Scotland in the first match while South Africa Under-19s lost their first match against Bangladesh.
