DHAKA: Abul Khair Steel has gained the right of Title Sponsor the 4th edition of Bangladesh Premier League (BPL), a franchise-based T20 league.

Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) CEO Nizamuddin Chowdhury, BPL governing body member secretary Ismail Haider Mallick and Abul Khair Group director (marketing and brand) Naushad Karim Chowdhury were addressing a press briefing at BCB conference room on Thursday afternoon (November 3).

Hailing Abul Khair Group’s past involvement with cricket, BCB CEO thanked the company.

Naushad Karim Chowdhury said they were joyous for their recent stint of involvement with Bangladesh cricket.

He further said: “BPL is such a tournament that exposes local cricketers’ to international players and environment which helps flourish their genius.”

“The tournament also plays a vital role in finding out future cricketers for Bangladesh national cricket team,” he added.

BPL-2016 is set to kick off on Friday (November 4).

Defending champion Comilla Victorians and Rajshahi Kings will lock horns in the opening match at Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium at 2:30pm while Rangpur Riders will face Khulna Titans in the second match from 7:15pm.
