Kiwis, Pakistan 1st day’s play washed away

DHAKA:  The first day’s play of the first test match between hosts New Zealand and visiting Pakistan at Hagley Oval, Christchurch, was washed away due to persistent rain on Thursday (November 17).

The toss also could not take place due to the stop-and-go rain in the quake hit New Zealand.

The toss for the match will be at 10:00 am on Friday, with play to begin at 10.30 am.

Umpires will aim to get at least 98 overs in on each of the remaining days. And the forecast is better for the rest of the Test.

Meanwhile, now that it’s a four day game and the toss has not happened, the follow-on mark is 150, and not 200.
