DHAKA: Banglanews24.com, country’s leading online news-portal has defeated Prothom Alo cricket team by 79-run in Jago News-DSEC Media Cup Tournament at Maulana Bhashani National Hockey Stadium in city.

Banglanews team bat first and scored 94 in six-over while Prothom Alo face all-out by 15 runs.

Banglanews correspondent Sazzad Khan turned out to be the man of the match for bagging 2 wickets and scoring 15-run.

Dhaka Sub-Editors Council (DSEC) for the first time has organized the joint ventured Jago news-DSEC media cup tournament for its members.

A total of 32 media houses participated in the tournament sponsored by soft-drinks Braver and Bisk club.

National Press Club President and senior journalist Muhammad Shafiqur Rahman inaugurated the six-A side tournament after playing national anthem.  

Jago News editor Sujan Mahmud, chief news editor Mohiuddin Sarkar, Agricultural Marketing Company Ltd head of marketing Arunagsho Ghosh, DSEC president Nasima Akhter Soma and the tournament committee convener AKM Obaidur Rahman were present at the event.
