DHAKA: Former National cricket team player Abdur Razzak is now out of danger after suffering injuries in a car accident on Tuesday evening (June 27).

Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) Selector and Former Tiger captain Habibul Bashar Sumon told Banglanews on Wednesday (June 28) that Razzak is safe now.

‘Allah himself saved Razzak and his family from the accident’, said Habibul Bashar.

On Tuesday evening, Razzak accompanied with his family members were on the way to Dhaka, after holidaying in the village home in Bagerhat on occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr, said family sources.

The car fell into a roadside ditch after losing control at Bhatiapara area of Gopalganj in Dhaka-Khulna Highway, as a tyre of the car punctured.

Razzak and his wife, son, sister and nieces—who boarded the car—none could get out of the car immediately.

However, locals rescued them and rushed to a local hospital for initial treatment.

“The car overturned and fell into the water. He (Razzak) was driving the car. His wife, son, sister and nieces accompanied with him in the car.  None could get out of the car immediately. The villagers came and rescued them from the ditch”, said Bashar.

However, they were protected from more untoward situation as the moving car lost its pace after being struck with the trees in front, Bashar narrated.
