RANGPUR: Twenty20 franchise Rangpur Riders on Wednesday (September 27) started their operation ‘Talent Hunt’ in Rangpur ahead of the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) season-5.

Rangpur Riders Icon player also Captain Mashrafe Bin Mortaza and Bashundhara Group Vice Chairman Safwan Sobhan inaugurated the event at Rangpur stadium. 

Earlier, hundreds of fans congratulated Mashrafe after the helicopter carrying him landed in Rangpur Stadium at around 11:37am.

A friendly cricket match of physically-challenged players was also held at Rangpur Stadium.

“It took much effort for us to reach Rangpur from Dhaka. We have come here to select some players from Rangpur. They will be played in the elite team. Pray for us so that we can bring some honor for the people of Rangpur”, said Mashrafe.

In the program, Rangpur Riders Managing Director Safwan Sobhan said: “We want to drive Rangpur towards progress. We expect to dignify the people of Rangpur by ensuring victory for Rangpur Riders.”

Besides, cricketers Shahriar Nafees, Mohammad Mithun and Abdur Razzaq were among others present there.

However, the fifth edition of the BPL will kick off from November 2. 

Bashundhara Group, leading business conglomerate of the country, took over the ownership of the Bangladesh Premier League Twenty20 franchise Rangpur Riders this year.
