DHAKA: Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) decided to drop Sabbir Rahman from the central contract of Bangladesh National Cricket team for assaulting a fan during a National Cricket League match.
The board has also recommended banning Sabbir Rahman from domestic cricket for six months with a heavy fine of taka 20 lakh.
BCB president Nazmul Hassan made the disclosure at his office in Dhanmondi on Monday afternoon (January 1).
He said the disciplinary committee of the board has already recommended the penalties for Sabbir. However the decision will be finalized in the next board meeting.
On the other hand, BCB also fined Tk 5 lakh and issued a warning to opener Tamim Iqbal for his disturbing remarks on wicket during the BPL tournament. Tamim’s fine may increase further, Papon said.
