DHAKA: Bangladesh claimed a relaxed 8-wicket win against Zimbabwe in the opening match of the Tri-Nations Tournament in Dhaka.
Tigers notched up the required total of 171 runs with 21.3 overs to spare and an unbeaten 83-run knock by Tamim Iqbal. All-rounder Shakib Al Hasan scored 37. Mushfiqur Rahim remained unbeaten on 14 at the other end.
Chasing 171, Tamim and Shakib made 78 in the second wicket to pave the way for the win.
Bangladesh earlier won the toss and started to field. It turned out to be a positive thing for Tigers as Shakib took two wickets in the opening over.
