DHAKA: Tiger batsman Sabbir Rahman, who is now in six-month ban, has received a surprising call from the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) to play a two-day practice match against visiting West Indies.
The match will be held on MA Aziz Stadium in Chittagong on Nov 18-19.
BCB Selector also former skipper Habibul Bashar Sumon confirmed the matter to banglanews.
“We have considered him for a two-day practice match against West Indies,” he said.
Sabbir Rahman was banned from international cricket for six months, for violating disciplinary code. The ban started since Sept 1.He, however, has played in recently-ended National Cricket League (NCL) in Rajshahi squad due to no restriction in domestic cricket.
However, West Indies players are expected to start arriving here from Wednesday (Nov 14).
Tigers will play 2 Tests, 3 ODIs, 3 T20Is and a warm-up match against the Caribbean.
