DHAKA: West Indies won the first T20 International of the three-match series over Bangladesh by 8 wickets with 55 balls remaining, at Sylhet International Stadium on Monday (December 17).
In response to the 130-run target set by the hosts Bangladesh, the Caribbean reached the destination by loosing two wickets in 10.5 overs.
Shai Hope scored the highest 55 runs 23 balls while E Lewis (18 off 11), N Pooran (23 off 17*), KMA Paul (28 off 14*).
It is the 3rd fastest fifty of Shai Hope in T20I cricket that rattle Bangladesh early.
Earlier in the day, Bangladesh won the toss and opted to bat. They scored 129 runs in the stipulated 20 overs.
Bangladesh batsmen Shakib Al Hasan (61 off 43) Ariful Haque (17 off 18) and Mahmudullah (12 off 19) managed to set the poor target for the visitors.
Windies bowler SS Cottrell bagged four wickets for which he got the Man of the Match.
