DHAKA: Comilla Victorians has started Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) campaign by a four-wicket win over Sylhet Sixers, at Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium (SBNCS) in Mirpur on Sunday (Jan 6).

Shahid Afridi played a big role for Victorians as he scored unbeaten 39 off 25 balls in the third match of the premier league’s 2019 edition.

Victorians Captain Steven Smith won the toss and invited the Sixers to bat first.

Sylhet Sixers set a 128-run target for Comilla Victorians, the former champions of Bangladesh Premier League (BPL).

Victorians chased it down for six wickets remaining one ball to play. Shahid Afridi is the Player of the Match

For Sixers, N Pooran’s highest 41 runs off 26 balls helped the team of David Warner score 127 runs for eight wickets in their stipulated 20 overs.

Mahedi Hasan, Mohammad Shahid and Mohammad Saifuddin of Victorians took two wickets each while Shahid Afridi picked up one wicket.
