DHAKA: Sylhet Sixers have beaten Chittagong Vikings by 5 runs in their second encounter of the sixth edition of Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) T20 Cricket in Mirpur on Wednesday (Jan 9).
Captain David Warner’s highest 59 runs off 47 balls, N Pooran’s 52 runs off 32 balls and Afif Hossain’s 45 runs off 28 balls helped Sixers score 168 runs for five wickets in their stipulated 20 overs.
In reply, Vikings lost seven wickets to score only 162 runs in their stipulated 20 overs, chasing a 169-run target set by Sixers at Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium.
Taskin Ahmed took four wickets while Alok Kapali bagged two wickets for the team of David Warner.
For Vikings, R Frylinck bagged three wickets while Nayeem Hasan and Khaled Ahmed took one wicket each.
Sixers won the toss and decided to bat first against Vikings.
Chittagong won their first match with Rangpur Riders while Sylhet Sixers lost their first match against Comilla Victorians.
