Somya Sarkar recorded his maiden century in Test cricket on day-4 of the Tigers’ first Test against New Zealand.
He reached the three figures, making 149 off 171 balls in Hamilton, to touch Tamim Iqbal’s nine-year-old record of fastest Test century.
Somya reached 100 off 94 balls and had hit 21 4s and 5 6s.
Tamim Iqbal set the record of scoring the fastest hundred off 94 balls, for a Bangladeshi, against England in Lords in 2010.
