DHAKA: Captains of all 10 participating teams including Bangladesh skipper Mashrafe Bin Mortaza met Queen Elizabeth II and the Duke of Sussex Prince Harry on the eve of the ICC World Cup 2019 opener.
The World Cup starts with hosts England taking on South Africa in the first match of the tournament at The Oval on Thursday (May 30).
Before the first match, Mashrafe Bin Mortaza (Bangladesh captain), Eoin Morgan (England captain), Aaron Finch (Australia captain), Faf du Plessis (South Africa captain), Kane Williamson (New Zealand captain), Jason Holder (West Indies captain), Virat Kohli (India captain), Sarfraz Ahmed (Pakistan captain), Dimuth Karunaratne (Sri Lanka captain), and Gulbadin Naib (Afghanistan captain) met the Queen and Prince Harry at the Buckingham Palace in Central London on Wednesday.
However, England will take on South Africa in the opening game of the World Cup at Oval, London on Thursday (May 30).
