Bangladesh cricketers return as World Cup mission ends

DHAKA: Bangladesh Cricket team returned home on Sunday (July 7) afternoon after wrapping up their World Cup mission.

The team, captained by Mashrafe Bin Mortaza, arrived at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport at 5:20 pm.

As a result, Ireland tour of the Bangladesh team and its World Cup mission, which lasted for nearly two and a half months, came to an end today.

Performance of the Bangladesh team in the World Cup was a combination of good and bad. Bangladesh raised hopes to play semi-final but fails in the end.

Bangladesh, however, have been widely acclaimed in the global media for positive batting performance, especially by ace all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan.

Bangladesh's World Cup campaign started as a dream through win against South Africa. However, due to poor bowling and fielding, Bangladesh failed to qualify for the semi-final.
