CHATTOGRAM: Police arrested the Shakib Al Hasan’s fan who entered the field on the second day of the Chittagong Test and handed over flowers to the all-rounder on Friday (September 6) evening.

.Officer-in-Charge of Pahartali police station Mainur Rahman said the fan was arrest on Friday evening.   

CMP Commissioner Mahbubur Rahman said, Deputy Commissioner (West) Md. Farooqul Islam has been assigned to investigate the matter. Five policemen, who were on duty, have been suspended. Investigation is underway to establish if there was negligence on their part. 

On Friday, a crazy fan ran onto the field bypassing all security. He then knelt down before Shakib Al Hasan with a flower bouquet in his hands after saluting Bangladesh Test captain.

Shakib, at an unguarded moment, signaled the fan to leave the field.  Shakib received the bouquet and handed it to umpire. Already, BCB's Security personnel reached the spot.

BCB filed a case with Pahartali police station for this incident.

The play was of the 2nd day of the one-off Test between Bangladesh and Afghanistan at Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium
