DHAKA: Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) president Nazmul Hassan Papon apprehended conspiracy behind the sudden 11-point strike of Bangladeshi cricketers.
The BCB president was talking to reporters after an emergency board meeting on Tuesday (October 22).
He believes that all this is being done to ruin the country's cricket. The secret of the conspiracy will be revealed, he said.
As regards 11-point demands, Nazmul Hassan Papon said: “It is not acceptable to stop playing raising these demands. They put forward these demands without informing us, without discussion. They didn't tell us anything, but they informed the media. They know we will accept their demands if informed us, that is why they didn't come to us. They don't answer my phone calls, they cut them off. These are all plans. They are demanding just the work we started. I think many of them don't even know what's going on behind.”
He also said: “But why would they stop playing? If they do not want to play, they will not play. This is actually pre-planned. All this is being done to endanger us. This is a big conspiracy against the country. An attempt is being made to ruin the country's cricket. Skipping India tour means pressure on us from the ICC. Everything is pre-planned. I do not understand what progress of cricket is made after doing all this. We did everything for them. I've spent a lot of money.”
Top Bangladesh cricketers on Monday (Oct 21) called for strike to press their 11-point demand related to country’s cricket amid growing discontent with its cricket board.
