Experts say form is temporary but class is permanent. It took four matches for very special Virat Kohli getting back to his vintage touch. A much keener contest between the two evenly matched sides of the IPL 2020 was expected. But well primed RCB bowling and fielding to the best of their abilities first restricted RR to a moderate 154/6. RCB with classic yet aggressive unbeaten 72 by Virat and impressive 63 by inform Padikkai cruised to easy 8 wickets win. RCB is now in second position with 6 points. RR has to win at least 2 of the remaining three matches to force their way into top four.

Contrary to the trend of the IPL 2020 RR captain Smith opted to bat. Willing RCB bowlers meaning business bowled at tight length and fielders were very sharp and agile. Paddikai produced another impressive innings of 63. VK finally produced a classic unbeaten innings of 72. RCB won big by 8 wickets .This win 3rd in 4 matches put RCB in a favorable position for qualifying among the top four.
