Sun Risers Hyderabad (SRH) in their must win last group match of IPL 2020 pulverized reigning champions and table topper Mumbai Indians winning by 10 wickets. Many would try to figure this out as a scripted match as MI resting their front line bowling attack Trent Boult and Jasprit Bumrah made yet far easier for the SRH chasing a well below par MI score of 149/8. Warner (85*) and Saha (58*) cruised past producing unfinished opening partnership of 151 . This win placed SRH at the 3rd place shutting the door for KKR. Boys of Hayderabad would now play against Royal Challengers from Bangalore in the knock out match for a play off against the loser of the match between MI and DC.
Never before in the history of IPL the contest was so intense and keen . We are not sure how much of these were natural and how much scripted. But definitely it was bookies delight. Millions of dollars must have been gambled over the matches. The 4th place for the knock out was up for the grab even till the last match.

To be honest MI definitely took the match easy as win or loss did not matter them at all except losing the winning momentum. Had they retained their front end bowling combination especially Boult and Bumrah things would not have been so easy for SRH. KKR has every reason to think that they were hard done. Anyway it was a relief that Rohit Sharma was back after recovery from injury evidencing that his omission from the Australia bound India team perhaps was a way too early decision.
SRH was on the other hand was desperate for the win. They bowled with passion and fielded with a mission restricting strong MI to a below par score of 149/8 . Free stroking Pollard in 25 balls presented a 41 runs cameo. Yadav (36) and Ishan Kishan (33) were two other contributors. Sandeep Sharma (3/34), Shabaz Nadeem (2/19) and Jason Holder (2/25) put the squeeze on MI.
SRH openers flamboyant Warner and impressive Saha raced across the victory target remaining separated for 151 in 151. Warner scored 85 in 58 deliveries striking 10 fours and a six, Saha remained unbeaten on 58 scored of 45 balls.
SRH would now play the knock out against RCB and if they win play against the loser of the match between DC and MI. It will be interesting to note whether SRH return the compliment to MI if they meet again.
