New Zealand Won by 65
New Zealand White Washed Bangladesh in T20 series (3-0)

Listless Bangladesh got shocked and awed by powerful New Zealand in the T20 turned T10 match losing by 65 runs. Batting first New Zealand with all guns blazing by Finn Allen (71 in 29 balls) and Martin Guptill (44 in 19 Balls) was powered to 141/8. Pathtic looking Bangladesh got blown away by crafty leg spin of Tod Astol (4/13) and clinical Tim Souhtee (3/15). Bangladesh dropped as many as 5 catches, New Zealand took some blinders.

Bangladesh for the first time playing without any member of Top Five gave a very poor account of themselves.

Cricket world knows New Zealand Cricket now is almost unbeatable by any team in any format at home. They have too many world-class players. Bangladesh playing without Shakib, Mashrafee and also playing T20 without Mushfique and Tamim was no match for powerful black caps. After humiliating comprehensive white wash in ODI series and losing two matches of T20 another white wash was looming when the team appeared for final match at New Zealand’s cricket stadium at Eden Park Auckland. Rain curtailing the match turned it in to a T10 Match.

The home side was so dominant that Bangladesh hardly could breathe freely. It was like Daivid against Goliath. Pathetic Bangladesh could not paly against lightening pace of Adam Mline and Lockie Ferguson bowling at 145 KMH plus. They looked novice against leg spin of Tod Astol. Master craftsman Southee also demolished them.

Bangladesh got yet another comprehensive white wash New Zealand won 7th bilateral series during COVID. Bangladesh played 32 matches in New Zealand against New Zealand and lost all.

No one would expect that Bangladesh would win against such a power full team. But at the same time Bangladesh lost is not also acceptable. Today Bangladesh could have won the match even if they were allowed to bat twice, such was the dominance of the home team.

Earlier Finn and Guptill toyed with Bangladesh bowling racing to 85 by the 6th overs. On the same ground while Kiwis took some spectacular catches Bangladesh dropped five.  These were awful and disgraceful.

Hope BCB and sports ministry will carry out some soul searching. I have been informed by our contacts in Auckland that getting tickets through hospitality of Bangladesh team some NRBs chanted anti government slogans after the match.

There must be anatomy of this disastrous tour. Government must get feedback from Bangladesh representative at Auckland
