Intel invests in China mobile market

DHAKA: Intel announced plans to set up an Intel Smart Device Innovation Center in Shenzhen, China and invest USD 100 million in the Intel Capital China Smart Device Innovation Fund.

The investment is expected to strengthen its position with local mobile device makers and help further develop China’s smartphone and tablet market.

Intel CEO Brian Krzanich presented the plans at the Intel Developer Forum in Shenzen.

He also detailed several new products and technologies the company will begin offering this year, including the availability of the Intel Gateway Solutions for the Internet of Things based on Intel Quark and Atom processors.

In addition, the CEO demonstrated for the first time SoFIA, Intel’s first integrated mobile SoC platform for entry and value smartphones and tablets, reports telecompaper.com.
