BASIS, BCS sign deal for tech fair

DHAKA: Ministry of Posts & Telecommunications, Ministry of Information and Communication Technology and Bangladesh Association of Software and Information Services (BASIS) are going to jointly organize country’s largest information technology fair ‘Digital World Fair-2014’.

In this regard, an agreement was signed between BASIS and Bangladesh Computer Samity (BCS) on Wednesday.

BASIS secretary general Rasel T Ahmed, also chief project officer of Digital World-2014, and Abu Hanif M Mahfuzul Arif signed the accord on behalf of their institutions.

With BASIS president Shamim Ahsan in the chair, the signing ceremony was attended, among others, by BASIS Executive Parishad and BCS Executive Parishad members.

For the first time, such a large fair, scheduled to be held at Bangabandhu International Conference Center (BICC) in the city on June 4-7, will be jointly organized by government and private entrepreneurs. 

Soft Expo, E-Governance Exhibition, Mobile Innovation Expo and 30 seminars on information technology will be held in ten technical sessions in the fair.
