DHAKA: With the slogan of ‘Laptop for Everyone’, a 3-day laptop fair displaying the latest models of laptops and tabs of popular world famed brands has begun in city.
Information minister Hasanul Haq Inu inaugurated the fair at Bangabandhu International Conference Centre on Thursday.
So far 50 stalls along with seven mini pavilions and three pavilions have been setup at the fairground.
Upholding the incumbent government’s pro-tech programs, the minister said that computers will be distributed at 22 thousand schools this year.
Inu also put importance on enacting cyber law as well the establishing cyber court to encounter cyber crime.
Global Brand chairman Abdul Fattah, Dell’s country manager Atikur Rahman, Acer Executive Technologies Limited general manager Salman Ali Khan, techshohor.com representative Al-Amin Dewan and Everest-famed Musa Ibrahim, among others, spoke at the inaugural ceremony.
The fair will remain open from 10:00am to 10:00pm till May 16.
Entry ticket is priced at Tk 30 but entrance for the students up to class X will be free.
However, the organizers said that proceeds will go to the victims of Nepal earthquake.
