DHAKA: A three-day Bangladesh ICT Expo 2015 will kick off Monday to highlight sustainable development and possibility of flourishing domestic technology industries.
The exposition, with the title of ‘Meet Digital Bangladesh’, will be held at Bangabandhu International Conference Centre (BICC) in city.
President Abdul Hamid will inaugurate fair, which is being considered as one of the biggest ever expositions in the ICT sector of the country.
A press conference was organized in this regard at BICC Green View on Sunday.
ICT state minister Zunaid Ahmed Palak, ICT secretary Shyam Sundar Sikdar, BCS president AHM Mahfuzul Arif, BSC general secretary Nazrul Islam Milon and ICT Expo-2015 convener Mujibor Rahman Swapan, among others, attended the conference.
Zunaid said that the exposition aims to uphold the success of Bangladeshi IT professionals as well as the prospect of this sector in Bangladesh to the world ICT market.
Bangladesh Computer Samity (BCS), the apex trade association of the ICT sector and the ICT division of post and telecommunication ministry will jointly organize the event.
According to the organizers, the technology-loving people will get opportunity to take part in Digital Photo Contest, Selfie Contest, Gaming Contest and Drawing Contest for Children.
They further said an Art Competition on ‘Future Dream Device’ will also be arranged during the fair where the kids can participate in two different age categories.
Bangladesh Computer Council, Access to Information Programme (A2I) under Prime Minister Office, Bangladesh Association of Software and Information Services (BASIS), Internet Service Provider Association of Bangladesh (ISPAB), Chief Technology Officer (CTO) Forum are working as associates of this mega event.
ATN Bangla, Bangla daily ‘Samakal’ and Radio Today are the media partners of the event.
The exposition will remain open to all from 10:00am to 8:00pm till June 17 and visitors will get attractive offers and prizes after attending different programs at the event.
