ICT expo begins in afternoon

DHAKA: A three-day Bangladesh ICT Expo 2015 is set to kick off on Monday afternoon in a bid to highlight sustainable development and possibility of flourishing domestic technology industries.

The exposition, with the title of ‘Meet Digital Bangladesh’, is being held at Bangabandhu International Conference Centre (BICC) in city.

President Abdul Hamid is expected to inaugurate the fair, which is being considered as one of the biggest ever expositions in the ICT sector of the country.

Bangladesh Computer Samity (BCS), the apex trade association of the ICT sector, and the ICT division of post and telecommunication ministry jointly organized the event.

According to the organizers, the technology-loving people will get opportunity to take part in Digital Photo Contest, Selfie Contest, Gaming Contest and Drawing Contest for Children.

They further said an Art Competition on ‘Future Dream Device’ has also been arranged during the fair where the kids can participate in two different age categories.

Bangladesh Computer Council, Access to Information Programme (A2I) under Prime Minister Office, Bangladesh Association of Software and Information Services (BASIS), Internet Service Provider Association of Bangladesh (ISPAB), Chief Technology Officer (CTO) Forum are working as associates of this mega event.

ATN Bangla, Bangla daily ‘Samakal’ and Radio Today are the media partners of the event.

The exposition will remain open to all from 10:00am to 8:00pm.

The fair will be continued till June 17 where visitors will get attractive offers and prizes after attending different programs at the event.
