Facebook has announced that its instant-messaging feature will not be supported by the Internet Explorer 6 browser from mid September.
Surfers using the Internet Explorer 6 browser will not be able to use Facebook`s Chat service from 15 September.
The social-networking site has announced it is working on ways to improve the service and as part of the changes it is removing it from IE6.
To give people time to update their browsers the change won`t take place until 15 September.
Facebook has announced that the improvements being made to the service are to make it more stable so there are fewer interruptions, as well as fixing a number of bugs. As a result, these changes aren`t supported on older web browsers.
