DHAKA: Popular social media sites, including Viber, WhatsApp, Twitter, Skype and Imo have reopened Monday evening.

Earlier, state minister for posts and telecommunications Tarana Halim asked Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Commission (BTRC) to open all social media sites.

The minister made this disclosure to the media Monday afternoon.

She also thanked people for accepting the government’s decision regarding the closure of the sites.

Earlier on Sunday night (December 13), BTRC asked the telecom operators to block the sties of Twitter, Skype and Imo.
