75.6% Bangladeshis deem social media positive

DHAKA: Around 75.60 percent internet users think that Social Networking Services (SNS) have positive impacts on daily life whereas only 6.80 percent people consider it as negative.

World's largest third party mobile browser UC browser (according to StatCounter) revealed the information based on a survey on 7,395 mobile users of Bangladesh.

According to the census report, 85.1 percent Bangladeshis considered Facebook as the most popular SNS in Bangladesh.

Over 70 percent users who were categorized as heavy users spend at least one hour a day in SNS.

UC browser, in a press release said, about 80 percent SNS users prefer services of UC browser as it provides fastest Facebook surfing, photo uploading, real time Facebook notification and other services.

The release also said the online relation is not less important than real world relations.

UCWeb International Business Department managing director (MD) Kenny Ye said Bangladesh is an important market for them as it is gradually developing here.

He also said they will work to provide better services to the Bangladeshi users.

The first ever Bangla browser will be introduced soon, hoped the MD.
