DHAKA: Telenor Group said it surpassed the 200 million mobile subscribers mark. This represents a significant milestone in Telenor Group’s history across Asia, Europe and the Nordics.

The Norway-based company said, reports telecompaper.com.

At the end of 2015, the group has 200.6 million mobile subscribers, excluding figures from Ukrainian mobile operator Kyivstar, up from 185.9 million at the end of 2014.

Telenor is present in 13 markets across Asia and Europe.

The company entered Hungary 21 years ago and established its first Asian operation in 1996. As of the third quarter, Telenor Group’s six Asian operations generated more than 50 percent of the group’s total revenues, and Norway and the rest of Europe generated about 20 percent each.

Telenor Group has added more than 170 million subscribers in the past decade.
