DHAKA: The second largest mobile operator Banglalink has completed the biometric verification of more than one crore users’ SIM which is 35 percent of total users of the operator.

The biometric verification system is a big step for mobile networking industry in Bangladesh and it will provide authentic registration, transparency, and security, said a press release.

Banglalink managing director and also chief executive officer (CEO) Erik Aas said they considered it as an opportunity to add new users and maintain the existing users.

He also thanked the banglalink users, who go through this system in the first phase.

According to Aas, thousands of Banglalink employees have been trained countrywide on biometric verification of SIM and they are working hard to register the users to verify their SIMs under biometric system.
