Banglalink, Opera introduce premium App store

DHAKA: Banglalink, Country's second-largest telecom operator has partnered with Opera, to introduce the largest premium app store, the 'Banglalink App Store', in Bangladesh.

Aligned with a focus towards digitalization, Banglalink has created an exclusive opportunity for its subscribers to access the largest collection of premium apps in the nation, said a press release on Tuesday (April 19).

“Recent advancements in technology have made it easier for people all over the world more to go online and be savvy consumers. In this increasingly modernized and digitalized world, people are more likely to depend on various apps for life hacks, as well as for entertainment.”

Responding to this trend, Banglalink has also taken a step towards celebrating digitalization and meeting the needs of its subscribers by introducing the Banglalink App Store, the release added.

Of the Banglalink App Store, Erik Aas, MD & CEO of Banglalink, said, “We firmly believe that the Banglalink App Store will serve to further our digitalization aims”.

“Mobile users who love spending time online but are conscious of exceeding their data usage plan will love this subscription-based app store from Banglalink. Now, users can download premium apps and pay a flat subscription fee through their mobile phone bills instead of directly transacting within the app store. We are happy to partner with Banglalink and help it bring this service to its users,” said Sunil Kamath, Vice President for South Asia & Southeast Asia at Opera.

Once users activate this offer, they will enjoy unlimited downloading of premium apps and games from the Banglalink App Store. As part of the initial offer, they will enjoy a 7-day free trial on first subscription.

The subscribers gain exclusive access to a catalog of over 300,000+ apps. Banglalink will conduct a simultaneous app acquisition process of updating and adding the new apps.

To take advantage of this offer, subscribers need to visit apps.banglalink.com.bd and subscribe to the Banglalink App Store, which charges a subscription fee of Tk 11.95 (inclusive of SD+VAT+SC) per week. After subscribing, a user will be charged for browsing and downloads.

They can also unsubscribe from the account at any time.
