DHAKA: American multinational technology company Microsoft will assist Bangladesh government in assessing cyber threats and provide cyber security.
Posts and telecommunication division of the government and Microsoft Bangladesh on Thursday (June 30) signed a three-year memorandum of understanding (MoU) in this regard.
Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Commission (BTRC) chairman Dr. Shahjahan Mahmood and Microsoft Bangladesh managing director Sonia Bashir signed the MoU on behalf of respective parties at secretariat in city.
State minister for posts and telecommunication affairs Tarana Halim, secretary Faizur Rahman Chowdhury, BTRC vice-chairman Ahsan Habib and other high-ups were also present in the signing ceremony.
Hailing the MoU, Tarana Halim said this has created an environment of better relationship between Bangladesh government and Microsoft.
She also expected the MoU will create new opportunities for work.
Sonia Bashir said Microsoft has been working with at least 25 Asian countries to provide cyber securities.
