DHAKA: Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Commission (BTRC) said the government will take the final decision on whether the private mobile phone operator Citycell will be shut down or not.

BTRC chairman Mahmood Shah told this at a press conference organized at Ramna BTRC Bhaban on Wednesday (Aug 3).

He said that a Citycell delegation has discussed the matter with us; later the summarization will be submitted to the government. Then the government will decide the results of negotiations.  

BTRC called for alternative measures for Citycell customers by August’16 to the due payment of around Tk 500 crores.
